Social Studies Assignments

Welcome to Magruder Middle School! We are going to have a fantastic school year! Our classroom message is "Empower yourselves & you can do anything."

We are so excited to start this new school year. Please remember to bring your covered books, binder, agenda,supplies everyday. This website will be updated every Monday (unless there are things that need to be changed during the week) and will show the class/home work for the week. As always, the most recent changes will come from the classroom. Classwork will be posted on the two front boards in class everyday. Classwork is written in black and homework is written in red. Planners/agendas need to be filled out daily, they should be signed by a parent every Thursday evening to be checked on Friday. It is up to you to check the homework boards!!!!

WECOME BACK AND HAPPY 2020!!! We will be working on our big pharaoh research essays this week and next, since we can't always predict how far the students will get each day, most homework will be posted on the board - the students are to write that down since that information will be the most updated:)

Tuesday, 2/4 - Type of final drafts of essay (Mummy) today in class. HW - final draft completely typed or in final draft form/pen, whole project due this Thursday.

Wednesday, 2/5 - Do art and cover mummy for final draft, put packet together for this mummy project, update folder and Table of Contents if time. HW - completed project due tomorrow.

Thursday, 2/6 - Project in today and share out. HW - right now the Unit 2 Test and Folder turn in is scheduled for this coming Wednesday, that date will be updated should we need to delay a day.

Friday, 2/7 - Study guide out for Unit 2 Test, start getting your folders and Table of Contents in order! HW - right now the Unit 2 Test and Folder turn in is scheduled this coming Wednesday, as stated before, if we delay the date of this, we will let you know.

Monday, 2/10 - Holiday, no school

Tuesday, 2/11 - Finish your study guides for the Unit 2A Test, organize folders for the turn in as well. HW - the study guide needs to be done by tomorrow then study, study, study for the Unit 2B Test and folder turn in this Thursday!!!!!

Wednesday, 2/12 - Go over the study guide, organize folders, update Table of Contents, review for the test. HW - study, study, study for the test and folder turn in tomorrow!!!!

Thursday, 2/13 - Turn in your folders, take the test.

Friday, 2/14 - Lesson 11 Table of Contents set up, essential question/discussion, preview pg. 81 workbook, vocabulary definitions and pictures. HW - to be posted on the board in class

Monday, 2/17 - Holiday, no school

Tuesday, 2/18 - Check off Lesson 11 def/pics, notes/lecture Lesson 11 pgs. 116-125, discuss 10 Commandments.

Wednesday, 2/19 - Work in groups to do Prophet Posters, put up, gallery walk to gather information for chart. HW - to be posted on the board in class, write it down.

Thursday, 2/20 - Finish gallery walk and gathering information/discuss, finish your chart. HW - finish the gallery walk chart.

Friday, 2/21 - Start Lesson 12 Essential Question, Preview (workbook pg.87), Traditions Activity, vocabulary def/pics. HW - finish all by Monday!

Monday, 2/24 - Start Lesson 12 notes/lecture, if time, start workbook pgs. 89-90

Tuesday, 2/25 - Finish Lesson 12 notes/lecture, work on workbook pgs. 89-90, start chart both with partners. HW - finish workbook pgs. 89-90 by tomorrow and the chart on the back of the Lesson 12 vocabulary

Wednesday, 2/26 - Start "Challenges Faced by Ancient Israelites" HW - to be posted on the board in class, write it down.

Thursday, 2/27 - Finish "Challenges..." activity, start study guide for Unit 2B Test (next Wednesday 3/4). HW - start getting your folder ready, study guide to be finished by tomorrow, UNIT 2B TEST AND FOLDER TURN IN NEXT WEDNESDAY 3/4)

Friday, 2/28 - "Prince of Egypt" video/notes. HW - get folder in order, Table of Contents, start studying for Unit 2B Test and Folder turn in!!!! WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY 3/4!!!

Tuesday, 3/3 - Finish the video/notes, discuss and turn in notes to get checked off. HW - study, study, study for the Unit 2B Test and have folder ready for turn in!!!

Wednesday, 3/4 - Turn in Unit 2B folder and take the Unit 2B Test.

Thursday, 3/5 - Start Lesson 13, new folder, Table of Contents, geography activity workbook pgs. 96-97, preview workbook pg. 99 and vocabulary def/pics pg. 99. HW - Preview workbook pg. 99 and vocabulary def/pic due tomorrow for Lesson 13

Friday, 3/6 - Lesson 13 Notes pgs. 140-149 in text and geography worksheets. HW - finish workbook (Sec 1-9) p. 100- 102 (top part)

Wednesday, 3/11 - Go over all facts and opinions, start Lesson 14, Essential Question pg. ISN 105, Preview and vocabulary pg. ISN 105 definitions and pics, start reading Lesson 14 in textbook and working on workbook(ISN). HW - to be posted on the board in class, write it down.
