Walking or Riding to and from School

We want all Magruder students to arrive to school and return home safely.
Here a few rules all Magruder students should follow.

When Walking

When walking to and from school, always use proper crosswalks and signals whenever possible.  When coming to street corners look both ways before crossing.  Be aware of your surroundings.  Many students wear earbuds causing them to not pay attention.  We have seen students listening to music or texting who step off the curb when a car is fast approaching.  Always stop and look before crossing.

When crossing Prairie,  always go to the light on 182nd or use the pedestrian bridge located near the south Prairie gate.  At no time should we see a Magruder student jaywalking cross Prairie or 182nd.

When Riding a Skateboarder, Bicycle or Scooter

Helmet Laws will be enforced.  In California, anyone aged 18 and under operating a bicycle, scooter or skateboard, or using roller skates must legally wear a bicycle helmet.  If a student is riding a bicycle, skateboard, and scooter without a proper helmet, that mode of transportation will be confiscated. It will be released to a parent or guardian or to the student when they have a helmet to wear upon departure from school.

Riders, of course, must obey all the proper rules of the road while riding.

NOT ALLOWED:  Riding a bicycle, skateboard, and scooter on the school grounds, at any time, will result in school consequences and/or confiscation.
