Getting To and From School

Bicycles and Skateboard

Racks are available near the south locker bay. Please make sure your bike is locked.  Any student under 18 years of age is required to wear a helmet while riding their bikes in accordance with CA state law. Students may not ride bikes on campus. Magruder is not responsible for lost/stolen bicycles and/or helmets.

Traffic Safety

To ensure safety while traveling to and from school, students may cross Prairie Ave. by accessing the pedestrian bridge located near the south Prairie gate. Bicycle, electric bike, skateboard, and scooter riding are not allowed on school grounds at any time and will result in school consequences and/or confiscation.  Students that depart school via bike, scooter, skateboards are to exit campus through the front gate at 185th and the North Gate. Helmets must be worn at ALL times. If a student is riding without a proper helmet, their mode of transportation may be stored in the office and only released to a parent or guardian or to the student when they have a helmet to wear.

When Walking

When walking to and from school, always use proper crosswalks and signals whenever possible.  When coming to street corners look both ways before crossing.  Be aware of your surroundings.  Many students wear earbuds causing them to not pay attention.  We have seen students listening to music or texting who step off the curb when a car is fast approaching.  Always stop and look before crossing.

When crossing Prairie,  always go to the light on 182nd or use the pedestrian bridge located near the south Prairie gate.  At no time should we see a Magruder student jaywalking cross Prairie or 182nd.

NOT ALLOWED:  Riding a bicycle, skateboard, and scooter on the school grounds, at any time, will result in school consequences and/or confiscation.
