Torrance Unified School District (TUSD) Board of Education Extends the Application Process for Vacant Positions on the Bond Independent Citizens' Oversight Committee

The Board of Education has rescheduled their December 3, 2018 meeting to December 10, 2018; therefore, TUSD will be extending the application deadline for the vacant positions on the Independent Citizens' Oversight Committee to Friday, November 30, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.

Individuals who meet the criteria for these vacancies, who are interested in serving on this committee may access the application and bylaws from the District website at www.tusd.org/administrative-services/oversight-committee. Applications can be dropped off at the TUSD Office of the Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Tim Stowe, at 2335 Plaza del Amo, Torrance CA 90501, or can be mailed to the same address.

 

Torrance Unified School District (TUSD) Board of Education Opens Application Process for Vacant Positions on the Bond Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee

Torrance, CA – The Torrance Unified School District Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee (ICOC) has seven vacant seats to fill due to the completion of terms. The application process will open on October 10, 2018 and end on November 15, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. The TUSD Board of Education will select the new members to the ICOC at its regular meeting on December 3, 2018.

The purpose of this committee, which meets quarterly, is to review the financial activities related to 2008 General Obligation Bond Issue Measures Y and Z, and 2014 General Obligation Bond Issue Measures T and U, both passed by residents of Torrance. The seven openings are for the following vacancies on the Oversight Committee – One Parent/Guardian of a student enrolled in Torrance Unified School District, one active member of a Local Business Organization, and five At-Large representatives.
