"I was homeless, out of hope and beaten down by financial obstacles before enrollment. Torrance Adult School is affordable, the classes are reasonably sized so there is a lot of one on one time with the instructors plus tutoring and they also do an excellent job preparing you for the national exam. Thanks to this Medical Assistant program, I am now purchasing a new home and enjoying a stable life long career as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. "15 years ago, I migrated from Mexico to the U.S. In 2019, I came to TAS with the ultimate dream of becoming a nurse. I had so much motivation and completed class after class. Then in March 2020, the pandemic hit - but that didn't stop me. I continued my courses online, and eventually took the HiSET in 2021 amd was one of the first to earn my HSE Certification during the pandemic. One month later, I earned my High School Diploma! After TAS, I went to Healthcare Career College to earn my CNA Certification. Now, I work as a CNA at a nursing home while attending LA Harbor College to become a Registered Nurse. I hope my story will inspire other students to never give up, adn reach for their career and educational goals. You can do it!"

"My name is Vaseekaraan Vijey. I did my pharmacy technician course at Torrance Adult School (TAS) in the Fall of 2016 with Mrs.Leticia Wang. I completed my pharmacy technician externship at Walgreens in Torrance. I got admitted to the pharmacy program at Touro University, California with all the pre-pharmacy prerequisites and pharmacy externship experience. The first two years of the pharmacy program consist of a didactic portion. After that, I did 11 clinical rotations at various pharmacy settings over the last two years. I could literally write a book about the pharmacy school journey. I also acquired a pharmacy intern position in an inpatient pharmacy, where I did a rotation. I truly believe the Walgreen externship via TAS helped me get this position. The basics I learned at TAS were helpful during the didactic portion, community pharmacy rotations, and intern jobs. In summary, this journey consists of many obstacles, failures, long hours, and sacrifices but it is all worth it in the end. I like to conclude with two things. Every long journey starts with a small step, and treat every place you do rotation or externship as a job interview. I hope this will inspire current TAS pharmacy students who are considering pharmacy school in the future. Thank you TAS, We did it!"

"My husband found Torrance Adult School (TAS) on Google, because my previous school stopped offering online classes. I needed the flexibility of online learning because I was working. Thanks to the TAS online classes, I was able to get my GED. With my GED, I was able to accomplish the Childcare Providers program with TAS and El Camino College. Now, I work as a Spanish & English Assistant Teacher! Thank you TAS for having free online classes and always motivating me - especially Ms. Estes, Ms. Nieves, Mr. Chavez, Ms. Mori, Ms. Razavi, and Mr. Chang for helping me!
