Industry-Recognized Certifications

Upon successful completion of a CTE course, students are eligible for industry-recognized certifications. These certifications are recognized by employers, can give students a competitive edge in the job market, and demonstrate that an individual possesses the skills and knowledge needed for particular job roles. The following industry-recognized credentials are earned by passing a certification exam at the end of the course or program, and/or applying to a state entity for licensure. Students must be approved by the instructor before taking any certification exams.

Business & Finance:

  • Certified Bookkeeping Professional (CBP, National Certification) - Accounting
  • QuickBooks Certified User (QBCU, National Certification) - QuickBooks Online

Computers & Office:

  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS, National Certification) - Excel
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS, National Certification) - Word
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS, National Certification) - PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Office Specailist (MOS, National Certification) - Access

Allied Health (Medical):

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA, National Certification) - Medical Assistant
  • Certified Billing & Coding Specialist (CBCS, National Certification) - Medical Biller
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC, National Certification) - Medical Coder
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT, National Certification) - Pharmacy Technician

TAS PROGRAM CERTIFICATES

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The TAS Program Certificates and Pathways are changing in the 2025-26 school year.

The following TAS Program Certificates will be honored and available for students until December 12, 2025.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL TAS PROGRAM CERTIFICATES:

  • TAS Program Certificate is a school certificate of completion only - it is not an official license or certification.
  • Requirements for ALL TAS Program Certificates:
    • Complete required course assignments
    • Pass simulation tests with minimum 75% grade
    • Maintain minimum 80% attendance

TAS Office Professionals Program Certificate

Requirements for pathway completion:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • MOS Excel Exam Certification (industry-recognized certification from Microsoft)
  • MOS Word Exam Certification (industry-recognized certification from Microsoft)

TAS Administrative Assistant Program Certificate

Requirements for pathway completion:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft PowerPoint

TAS Financial Operations Program Certificate

Requirements for pathway completion:

  • Accounting 1
  • Accounting 2
  • QuickBooks
  • Microsoft Excel
  • QBCU Exam Certification (industry-recognized certification from Intuit)
  • MOS Excel Exam Certification (industry-recognized certification from Microsoft)

Requirements for pathway completion:

  • Starting a Business (Enroll in Business & Finance Independent Study)
  • Certified Bookkeeping Professional Exam Certification (CBP)
