Co and Extra Curriculars

Standards for students who participate in athletics, student council, pep squad, drill team, clubs, and musical organizations are as follows:Students must be successfully progressing toward graduation requirements and must be legally enrolled and have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.0 in all classes completed (including physical education) the previous quarter prior to participation. In the case of activities which require tryouts, citizenship grades which include two "U" grades will make the student ineligible to participate in co- and extra-curricular activities. The above academic and citizenship standards must be achieved to each quarter grading period on order for students to be able to participate in co- or extra- curricular activities.

The parents of the students who have not achieved a 2.0 GPA may appeal the decision for ineligibility to the District Pupil Personnel Committee. The only basis that the Committee may use to authorize participation is that the pupil's grades are a continuation of his or her achievement pattern and that the pupil is apparently using all of his/her natural ability an still cannot achieve a 2.0 GPA
