Enrichment & Events
GATE Enrichment (Grades 3-8)
All identified TUSD GATE students grades 3-8 are invited to participate in GATE enrichment sessions.
- School Site-based Sessions: 6-7 school site-based sessions (scheduled throughout the year by school site GATE Teacher Leader Team) - logistics and delivery method will be determined by each site.
- Each session will focus on social-emotional needs of gifted learners through a critical and/or creative thinking activity
School sites will be contacting families with more details regarding site-based enrichment sessions.

Session #1 - Supporting Your Gifted Learner
Wednesday, November 6, 2024 (5:30-6:30 PM)
Parents and guardians of identified TUSD Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) students in grades 3-8 were invited to join a virtual webinar focused on ways we can work together to support gifted learners both in the classroom and at home.
Session #2 - The Gifted Brain & Executive Function
Thursday, December 12, 2024 (5:30-6:30 PM)
During this session, we will discuss the array of executive function skills (ex: organization, time-management, emotional regulation, etc.), their impact on the gifted learner, and ways to help strengthen these skills with your child.
Newly-Identified GATE Family Session - Supporting Your Gifted Learner
Thursday, February 20, 2025 (5:30-6:30 PM)
This session is geared for families of newly-identified GATE students. During this introductory session, we will discuss ways we can work together to support gifted learners both in the classroom and at home.
Session #3 - 21st Century Gifted Learner
Wednesday, February 26, 2025 (5:30-6:30 PM)
During this session, TUSD GATE and Ed Tech teams will be providing information and resources to help support your student navigate and maximize tools in a tech-forward world.
TUSD GATE Keynote & Makers Faire at Torrance Innovation Festival
TUSD GATE will be combining forces with other amazing programs and events at the Torrance Innovation Festival on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
We invite TUSD GATE students and their families to take part in the many opportunities available at the Torrance Innovation Festival on 3/29.
This event is free, but registration for the festival is required. Families may register via Torrance Innovation Festival website linked here.
