Torrance Unified Emergency Alert System
In the case of an incident affecting one or more of our schools, such as an earthquake, fire, medical emergency, or security threat, our Torrance Unified Emergency Alert System will be activated.
In addition to on-campus notifications, emails, and texts, this webpage will also provide updates with critical information about the incident.
Upcoming Drills
There are no upcoming drills at this time. When they are scheduled, Torrance Unified families will receive more details in an email prior to the drill and communications from their school principals with instructions. Please email communications@tusd.org with any questions.
FAQ
Several families asked why notifications aren’t delivered quicker. During any critical incident, we spend the first half hour immediately coordinating with law enforcement to secure the school(s), ensure the safety of our students, and support school staff. Once first responders can provide us with accurate details, we quickly draft text and emails for you, obtain approvals, and initiate broadcast alerts to thousands of families. Please know we are committed to sharing verified information as swiftly as possible once safety measures are in place.
