We received the All-Clear notice from the Torrance Police Department after a precautionary check of the school campus at Torrance Elementary and we have lifted the lockdown. All DevELOPment Academy students will be released on schedule this evening. Please drive carefully and add extra time to your pick-up, as there may still be police presence in the area and road closures east of the school. 

Torrance Unified Emergency Alert System

In the case of an incident affecting one or more of our schools, such as an earthquake, fire, medical emergency, or security threat, our Torrance Unified Emergency Alert System will be activated. 

In addition to on-campus notifcations, emails and texts, this webpage will also provide updates with critical information about the incident. 

Upcoming Drills

There is an upcoming districtwide drill at the end of April which will include a test DRILL text to all Torrance Unified families. For security purposes, we will not publish the date and time here, but you will recieve more details in an email prior to the drill and communications from your school principals with instructions.
