Welcome to the 2024-25 School Year!

 

We are thrilled to announce that Madrona Middle School was voted the Best Public Middle School in the 2024 Daily Breeze/Beach Reporter South Bay Best Readers' Choice!

Thank you to our families who voted for Madrona Middle School.The recognition is a testament to the supportive and safe learning environment created through the joint effort of our student body, staff, and families.

The 2023-24 School Year was outstanding for our Madrona Middle School students, and Madrona Staff and the Madrona PTSA have plans for another successful year of well-attended student and family events that will keep your student and your family connected to Madrona Middle School. 

Our staff is looking forward to working with your students, and most certainly, your students are excited about their first day of school, getting to know their teachers and learning expectations for the year, reconnecting with friends, and making new ones. 

We invite incoming 6th-grade and new-to-Madrona students to attend Madrona Student Leadership’s Wildcat Welcome Orientation on Monday, 8/19, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The orientation will include a full tour of the school and fun activities. New students will receive tips from student mentors on navigating multiple periods and the responsibilities of middle school. Families with students participating in orientation are invited to attend an optional meeting with me from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in our Cafeteria. I will answer questions about our school and program offerings.

Our first day of school is Thursday, 8/22. The first bell rings at 8:30 a.m. However, due to potential traffic and to allow students to navigate their lockers and the location of their 1st-period class, we will open the campus at 8:00 a.m. for the first two days of school.

Please Save the Date for the following events scheduled for the first two months of school:

• 9/10 - Back to School Night (5:30 pm)
• 9/13 - Madrona PTSA-hosted School Dance (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm)
• 9/24 - Student Leadership hosted Family Movie Night (6:00 pm)
• 10/18 - Madrona PTSA-hosted trunk or Treat (5:00 pm - 7:00 pm)
   

Student schedules will be viewable in PowerSchool starting Monday, August 19. Families will be notified if any schedule changes are needed. Changes may occur up to the first few weeks of school due to ongoing new student enrollments, and the need to level teacher classes and ensure all Madrona students get the core classes they need. 

Does your student need Madrona PE clothes (or) did they outgrow their PE Clothes? Order PE Clothes Online Here. Orders are shipped directly to your home. Anticipate approximately three weeks from the cut-off date to home delivery. (Initial Order Cutoff 8/1 - Second Order Cut-off 8/25 -  Last Order Cut-Off 9/15)

It's your go-to source for essential school updates, including after-school interest clubs, boys' and girls’ intramural athletic team tryouts at the start of each season: soccer (Fall), volleyball (Fall), basketball (Winter), and flag football (Spring), current and upcoming events, PTSA news and volunteer opportunities, and Torrance Unified School District student and family resources.

Our middle school students have a great year ahead of them - one full of learning and growing!
