FAQ

Is my donation tax deductible?Yes, our tax ID # is 95-6207722. You will receive a thank you letter for tax purposes in January.

What does my money go towards?Every year the RMS PTSA supports Field Trips and Assemblies, School, Student, and Teacher Support, Adventures in Art, and Community Service Projects. Last year we started a multi-year effort to bring more Chromebooks to RMS with the goal of getting our Chromebook to student ratio to 1:1. Although most of these programs will be on hold this year, more than ever, we need to bring in more Chromebooks to support hybrid and distance learning. Our goal is to eventually be able to assign each student their own Chromebook, which will be safer than having multiple students use the same Chromebook.

What do I get with the Chromebook Champion Sale? For each $150 donated you will receive a Class Comp t-shirt, a Student Planner, a PTA membership, and a cool car magnet showing your support of Richardson.

What is the class comp t-shirt for?Like last year, we had multiple Class Competition Days where classes (6th, 7th & 8th) competed with each other to win the coveted Class Comp Cup trophy. Students will wear their class colors (t-shirt) on those days. The leadership class is planning class spirit days via zoom where the students will be able to earn points for their class.

How do I know if my company matches?Ask your employer. Larger companies usually do. You initiate the request and we’ll do the rest. It never hurts to ask.

If I can’t afford $150, is it even worth donating anything? Yes! Any donation, big or small is greatly appreciated. And tax deductible!

How many Chromebooks do we have already? Why do we need more? With the success of our Chromebook Champion Campaign last year, we were able to purchase 108 new Chromebooks, our goal is to purchase an additional 100 Chromebook to ensure our goal of 1:1. As we finished the school year last year on-line, you all know the importance of G-mail, Google Meet, the Google drive, and Zoom. We are all going to start the school year on-line again, and we want to be able to support our students. In nearby districts, each student gets their own to take home for the whole year. Our goal is to be able to do the same.
