Career Technical Education (CTE) provides learners with the knowledge, experiences and skills they need to be prepared for college and careers. Students in a CTE pathway program take a specialized sequence of courses, a pathway, which provides rigorous academic and technical knowledge and skills aligned with a specific career focus. CTE pathways range from 2 to 4 years in length and culminate with a capstone course. Within a CTE pathway, courses are designed to be taken in sequential order to ensure the development of knowledge and skills over time.
