We are participating in California’s Great Kindness Challenge! This week Edison will be participating in this activity to remind us how important and great it is to be KIND to one another.

EXTRA BONUS POINTS for your class if you complete a Kindness Task sheet. Turn it in on Friday to your teacher. Every student will receive this Bingo Kindness sheet in which you must complete all 16 boxes. After you complete a kindness task, either check the box or write your initials. An adult will need to sign off to confirm you did all 16 tasks for your class to receive the points.
1st and 4th grade tied in the last spirit weekat 63% participation rate, and will have an extra recess with music at your teachers’ convenience.

Any student that already registered for the Kids Heart Challenge will be recognized during the assembly. Prizes for donating to the American Heart Association will be distributed every Friday, and will culminate with the whole school Jump Roping for one hour.
SPECIAL INCENTIVES:
The grade with the most students participating will earn music during recess!
Students who complete Finn's Mission will earn a golden ticket to go shopping!
The classroom with the most students registered will earn an incentive that will be decided by the winning class!
2023-24 Yearbook Cover Contest March 22 due date
We need student submissions for this year's yearbook cover! The submission has to say the year “2023-24 and Edison Elementary,” It must be vertical orientation on 8.5”x11” paper, and include your name on the back side.

IF YOUR CHILD IS COVID POSITIVE
Please complete the following self-reporting if your child is Covid Positive. If your child was requested to test because they are a close contact, please also complete the self-reporting form.
Any student who tests positive should notify us using the provided reporting link.
ATTENDANCE - KEEP YOUR CHILDREN AT HOME IF THEY ARE SICK
In an abundance of caution, please keep your child at home if they are ill. Be sure to contact our school health assistant, Ms. Lajoy Atkins if you think your child has any Covid Symptoms, needs to quarantine/isolate because a family member is Covid positive, or just for any advice about your child’s illness. You can reach our health tech at atkins.lajoy@tusd.org, or call 310-533-4513 x 2883.
If your child is absent for any other reason, please email EdisonAttendance@tusd.org, email the teacher or call the office and dial extension #2.
If your child will be absent three or more days, please contact your child’s teacher and the office for an independent contract to get a work packet and receive attendance credit.
