Parent Teacher Association

We love our PTA and hope you will join us if you are not yet a member.

Our school’s local PTA and the Torrance Council of Parent-Teacher Association (TCPTA) work hand-in-hand with each other. PTA members consist of parents, students, teachers, and neighbors in our Torrance community who provide leadership training, coordinate activities and events throughout the school year, and promote communication between our school PTA and the TCPTA.

Our PTA looks forward to continuing the great work on our campus and serving our students for years to come!

You can learn more about our school-specific PTA below.

Hello Edison Eagles!

I am so excited to welcome you all back for the 2025-2026 school year! Thank you for showing an
interest in the PTA. What is the PTA? The Parent Teacher Association was established in 1897 looking
out for the well-being of our children. Teachers, parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, bosses,
neighbors, and children can all be members of the PTA and help enrich the school experience for each
student.

This is my first year as president of the Edison Elementary School PTA and I am looking forward to
meeting each and every one of you at PTA functions throughout the year. Our focus as a PTA is always
on supporting the kids and this year I think that we can do that best by building a stronger, more robust
PTA in the first place. Therefore, my vision for our PTA this year is “Each One, Reach One.”

After you’ve become a member yourself, think of that one special person that you’d like to have join
you on this adventure. Encourage that neighbor, friend, or parent of another student to become a
member for the price of less than most combo meals at your local fast food place. And then, now with
the strength of 2 people, potentially plan one of the activities! Okay, maybe I’m aiming too high, but it’s
actually quite a simple process to plan an activity. They’re almost all planned out for you from the
beginning. Come ask me. I’ll tell you all about it.

Anyway, member or not, we’d love to have all of you come participate in the events supporting our students. Look around the website and see what piques your interest. We plan to have a lotof information on opportunities to give back to Edison Elementary through joining, donating, or volunteering, as well as all the details about current and upcoming events. Maybe my son, Deacon, and I will see you at one!

Sincerely,

Shannon Massimo
