Kids Heart Challenge Kick Off Zoom Assembly Today!
Teachers, please have your class join the Live Zoom Assembly at 1:15 PM. There will be fundraiser forms in your box today to send home. Get out your jump ropes and start building up stamina for our Jump for Heart event on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Minimum Day Schedule for Parent Teacher Conferences
We still have Minimum days through Thursday, Jan 29 for parent teacher conferences. Friday, January 30 is regular dismissal.
STEAM Fair 2026 Due February 11
First place $50 Amazon Gift Card and will move on to the District competition on March 5th. Second Place receives $25 Amazon Gift Card. All participants receive Golden Tickets and a certificate of participation.
Project is due Wed February 11, Steam Night Thursday Feb 12. Turn in an Invention (all grades), Collection (TK-1st), or Experimental Design (4-5th grade Project.
Anyone who turns in a Steam Fair project by 2/11 will earn 4 golden tickets

Additional Saturday Workshops:
Two more STEAM Fair Weekend Workshops between 9am - 12pm on Sunday, Feb 1st (date change) and Saturday, Feb 7.
Ms. Jenny Ta-Goddard (a high school science teacher and a PTA Board Member) has volunteered to support your child in their STEAM Fair project with several FREE workshops in the Edison cafeteria. Elena and Alberto Viscarra (former Edison parents and engineers) will also help out at some sessions. These workshops will allow students a designated time to work on their projects and to have questions answered.
Please sign up for weekend sessions on 2/1 and 2/7. An accompanying adult is highly recommended to attend, especially on the first day to support your child during the workshop, but you are not required to stay.

Straw Ballot for the 2026-2027 PTA Executive Board is now open!
Do you know someone that would do a great job helping or running one of our school functions? Is someone really organized, outgoing, reliable, or disorganized, introverted, but reliable?
A straw ballot is for suggesting candidates that might potentially want to fill a role for a position. We are asking our PTA members for ideas for candidates for Officers for our PTA Executive Board for the 26-27 school year.
You may self-nominate or nominate that other PTA member that you know will be just perfect for an upcoming board position. Please submit straw ballot nominees by January 9th, 2026.

BoxTops Receipt Drive until Friday, February 6, 2026
Save your receipts and turn them into cash! Edison is collecting grocery receipts and will scan them in, so you don’t have to. Receipts can be turned into the office or to the teacher until Friday, February 6. Receipts can be dated between 01/15-02/06.

ATTENDANCE - AND INDEPENDENT STUDY CONTRACTS
In an abundance of caution, please keep your child at home if they have a fever 100 degrees or vomiting. Students can still complete an independent study contract when absent due to illness to receive attendance credit, up to 15 days during the school year. You can contact the office staff and your child’s teacher for an independent study contract.

If your child is absent for any other reason, please email EdisonAttendance@tusd.org, email the teacher or call the office and dial extension #2.
If your child will be absent, please contact your child’s teacher and the office for an independent contract to get a work packet and receive attendance credit.
