Red Ribbon Week - Grade Level Winner 3rd Grade!
Red Ribbon Week promotes drug awareness and drug use prevention.  We are celebrating Red Ribbon Week with the theme “Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free” and some Spirit Week Fun!

PTA Paper Drive 
Please write your student’s and teacher’s name on the box and drop off or have it delivered.  Each student who donates a ream will receive a Keep it Real and if you donate a case then you will receive a Golden Keep it Real. 

Math-A-Thon, Grow-A-Garden Edition, has begun! Support our Fall Fundraiser! We are at $8,977!  With 3rd Grade in First place.
This is our main fundraiser for the year that funds field trips, Fall Festival, art projects, enrichment programs,... all the fun things! Any donation, large or small, goes directly to funding programs and activities for the kids.

Here’s how Math-A-Thon works: 
Collect pledges and donations NOW until November 14th for your child’s upcoming hard work on their Math-a-thon test!

Step1: You should have gotten an email to personalize your child's page with a picture and their personal goals. If not, you can visit https://app.99pledges.com/fund/EdisonMath2025 or scan the QR Code for the general page. Search your child’s name to locate their direct link. 
Step2: Share their link with family & friends to gather flat donations & per-problem pledges. If you prefer to gather in-person pledges or donations, please use the attached form.
Step3: Encourage your child to do their best on the math worksheet during class on Friday, November 14.  Make-ups can be given the next week, if necessary.
Step4: Your child receives their score and then tells their pledges how they did! Collect & return manual pledges to the office by Friday, November 21st.
Step5: Earn cool prizes for both collecting donations and doing math!

Donate leftover candy to the Bob Hope USO troop office located at LAX.  Soldiers who arrive at LAX before going to Ft. Irwin, 29 Palms and Camp Pendleton enjoy snacks and a family area.

We strongly encourage all families to join the PTA to support our students! 
If we reach our goal, there will be a school wide celebration of some sort - in the past we have “dunked” staff members and almost had the Kona Ice Truck for the entire school! Only 67 more members to go!

Edison Library Began October 13 - Some Volunteers still needed! 
Check your child’s backpack weekly for their library book & read with them!  
Library books should be returned weekly on your child’s library day.  If another library slip is needed in order to check out books, download it here and return it to the teacher or main office. 
The library is run by volunteers like you! We need 1-2 volunteers for each class.  Volunteers are still needed for Crofton, Hopf, Suzuki, Tabaldo, Talleda, Matsumoto, Hinze,  If interested please reach out to Carissa Baumhart at baumhart.carissa@edisonelementarypta.org

You can easily support Edison elementary by signing up for Ralphs' Community Contribution program and designate Edison PTA to receive a percentage of your purchases. It’s free, all you do is your normal grocery shopping!

ATTENDANCE - KEEP YOUR CHILDREN AT HOME IF THEY ARE SICK    
In an abundance of caution, please keep your child at home if they are ill. Be sure to contact our school health assistant sub Lilliana Briseno (who is filling in for Ms. Lajoy Atkins). You can reach our health tech sub at briseno.lillianna@tusd.org, or call 310-533-4513 x 2883.

If your child is absent for any other reason, please email EdisonAttendance@tusd.org, email the teacher or call the office and dial extension #2.
If your child will be absent three or more days, please contact your child’s teacher and the office for an independent contract to get a work packet and receive attendance credit.
