Thursday, October 16 is our annual Kick Off for the Watch DOGS. Please RSVP for our Pizza with Pops event from 6:00 - 7:00 PM (6:00 - 6:30 Pizza and meeting start at 6;30). Watch DOGS is a campaign to have Dads and father figures of students spend a day at Edison. Sign up by returning the flyer, Click HERE, or via the QR Code.
Traffic and Parking Awareness
No drop off or parking in the staff parking lot. Also No parking in North High/Edison Lot in the morning, (afternoon okay). Please either use the Valet drop off at the adjoining NHS/Edison parking lot or park in the neighborhood.
Label your jackets, lunchboxes and water bottes
Check our lost and found for clothing in front of our kinder yard.
Don’t bring Toys to School
Please keep toys at home. This included stuffed animals, LeBubu dolls, Pokémon cards, etc. Toys/Items are often a distraction to learning, can get lost or taken, and we cannot recoup the cost of lost, or broken items.
Skechers Friendship Walk (link to sign up)
The Skechers Friendship Walk is on October 19th at Manhattan Beach Pier. Activities and registration begin at 8 am, and The Walk begins about 9:30 am. Make sure to search for Edison Elementary under the school category to join our team. If you are unable to attend or just want to show your support, you can choose to walk virtually with us! The National PTA Reflections Art Contest is HERE! The 2025 theme is “I Belong”.
Students – Show your creativity through visual arts, photography, film, literature, music composition, or dance choreography.

Edison Library Begins October 13 - Some Volunteers still needed!
Did your child turn in their permission slip so that they can check out books? If another slip is needed, download it here and return it to the teacher or main office. The library is voluntarily run by parents, like you! We need 1-2 volunteers for each class. Volunteers are still needed for Croften, Hopf, Suzuki, Tabaldo, Talleda, Matsumoto, Hinze, and Willis. Principal Appreciation Week THIS Week 10/06-10/10
Instead of a different treat or kind gift each day this week, we encourage families to show their appreciation for Mrs. Okazaki by signing up for the Skechers Friendship Walk above! If your child is absent for any other reason, please email EdisonAttendance@tusd.org, email the teacher or call the office and dial extension #2.
If your child will be absent three or more days, please contact your child’s teacher and the office for an independent contract to get a work packet and receive attendance credit.
