New Teachers at Edison: Mrs. Hinze and Ms. Blazak
- Mrs. Hinze is not new to Edison as she was our reading intervention teacher for many years prior but she is our current 1st grade teacher.
- Ms. Blazak joins us from Downey Unified school district as our 3rd grade teacher.

Student Emergency Kits - Past Due!
Turn in payment or send your homemade kit into the classroom teacher ASAP! Thank You for purchasing your Emergency Kits from Edison PTA’s 5th Grade Committee and helping us to raise funds for end-of-year activities!
We still have 32 emergency kits for which we haven’t received payment. If you pre-ordered a kit from Edison PTA, please drop off exact cash or a check made out to Edison PTA to the front office ASAP. Be sure to write your student’s name on the envelope.
Any kits not paid for by Thursday, September 21, will be returned to inventory and sold on a first come, first serve basis. Any remaining emergency kits will be delivered directly to the teacher once payment is received.

Edison Library - We need Volunteers & turn in your Permission Slips!
- Please return the signed Library Permission Slip for your child so they can check out a book when the library opens in October.
- We are in need of at least 1-2 parent volunteers in each of the following classes so that we can open the library to students in October: Hopf, Hinze, Branley, Suzuki, Richardson, and Hinman.

Art experience is not required just a love of art, and willingness to share it with students. IF YOUR CHILD IS COVID POSITIVE
Please complete the following self-reporting if your child is Covid Positive. If your child was requested to test because they are a close contact, please also complete the self-reporting form.
Any student who tests positive should notify us using the provided reporting link.
ATTENDANCE - KEEP YOUR CHILDREN AT HOME IF THEY ARE SICK
In an abundance of caution, please keep your child at home if they are ill. Be sure to contact our school health assistant, Ms. Lajoy Atkins if you think your child has any Covid Symptoms, needs to quarantine/isolate because a family member is Covid positive, or just for any advice about your child’s illness. You can reach our health tech at atkins.lajoy@tusd.org, or call 310-533-4513 x 2883.
If your child is absent for any other reason, please email EdisonAttendance@tusd.org, email the teacher or call the office and dial extension #2.
If your child will be absent three or more days, please contact your child’s teacher and the office for an independent contract to get a work packet and receive attendance credit.
