Edison was voted favorite elementary School in the South Bay (only elementary school in TUSD) by the Daily Breeze AND Edison is being recognized as a Gold Winner for CA PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) implementation award! (only school ever to receive this in TUSD)
Back to School Night 9/14 5:30 - 7:00 pm for Adults Only
Please join us and meet your classroom teacher. This is the time when the teacher will go over class expectations and what to expect this year.
Back to School Schedule is:
- 5:30 - 6:00 3rd - 5th Grade
- 6:00 - 6:30 PTA Association Meeting
- 6:30 - 7:00 TK - 2nd Grade
This is also a Minimum Day on 9/14, ending school one hour early:
- TK-K (no change in time)
- 1st - 3rd end at 2:03
- 4th - 5th end at 2:12

PBIS: Cafeteria Expectations
- Respect: Clean up after yourself, use soft voice, listen and follow adult direction, wait your turn, eat your own food. Take one: 1 milk, 1 juice
- Empathy: Appreciate that people eat different kinds of food.
- Awareness: Aware of personal space, Go back station (unopened packets of food), and recycling program. Compost: open food leftovers but not plastic containers, recycle bins: water bottles, aluminum cans, and paper products, and all others in trash.
- Learning: Must take all food groups but don’t waste, making healthy food choices. Try different foods!

IF YOUR CHILD IS COVID POSITIVE
Please complete the following self-reporting if your child is Covid Positive. If your child was requested to test because they are a close contact, please also complete the self-reporting form.
Any student who tests positive should notify us using the provided reporting link.
ATTENDANCE - KEEP YOUR CHILDREN AT HOME IF THEY ARE SICK
In an abundance of caution, please keep your child at home if they are ill. Be sure to contact our school health assistant, Ms. Lajoy Atkins if you think your child has any Covid Symptoms, needs to quarantine/isolate because a family member is Covid positive, or just for any advice about your child’s illness. You can reach our health tech at atkins.lajoy@tusd.org, or call 310-533-4513 x 2883.
If your child is absent for any other reason, please email EdisonAttendance@tusd.org, email the teacher or call the office and dial extension #2.
If your child will be absent three or more days, please contact your child’s teacher and the office for an independent contract to get a work packet and receive attendance credit.
