Red Ribbon Week at JMS

Next week is "Red Ribbon Week" in which we raise awareness about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.

The JMS PTSA and Student Council have been collaborating to create the following plan:

Red Ribbon Spirit Days: 

  • Monday Theme: Wear Sports Gear! “Team up against drugs! Join the fight!”
  • Tuesday Theme: Twins/Group Day! “Support each other to stay drug free!”
  • Wednesday Theme: Wear Neon! “We’re too bright for drugs!”
  • Thursday Theme: Wear Red! “Make a statement! Stay drug free!”
  • Friday Theme: JMS Spirit Day! “Jefferson Jaguars rise up against drugs!”


School Decorations: PTSA volunteers will decorate the campus with Red Ribbons.

TUPE (Tobacco Use and Prevention Education): On Tuesday & Friday in Homeroom, Student Council will help raise awareness of Tobacco Education.

  • Tuesday: Homeroom teachers will onto a Google Meet to hear a mini-presentation from Student Council.
  • Friday: Students will participate in a Homeroom activity to design a JMS logo for TUPE. Winning designs will be displayed on a TUPE Bulletin Board.

Red Ribbon Pledge: On Thursday at lunch, students are encouraged to sign the "I Pledge to be Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drug Free" banners at lunch.
