Welcome Letter from our PTSA Board

Dear Jaguar Families,

As we start the new school year, we would like to welcome back all of our returning
families and a big welcome to all new families and the Class of 2023. Each new school
year brings excitement and anticipation and this year will be no different. This year’s
PTSA motto is “Achieving more, together.” Together we can stay safe, connected and
succeed. Jefferson Middle School is truly a special place. Everyone from our wonderful
Principal, Ms. Yvonne Marin and Assistant Vice Principal, Mr. Pete Loaiza to faculty and
staff, parents, volunteers and students really work together to ensure the well-being and
success of ALL students.

Our PTSA would not be what it is without the support of our school, families and
students. As we navigate the school year ahead, your involvement and continued
support of the PTSA is very important as it helps provides the extra programs and
materials not provided by the state or district. Some of the extra programs and materials
PTSA provides include Adventures in Art, field trips, Chromebooks, educational
assemblies and programs, classroom supplies and much, much more. One simple way
to support PTSA is simply by purchasing a membership. You can easily join online at
https://jointotem.com/ca/torrance/jefferson-middle-school-ptsa .

We will also be participating in the Sketchers Walk on October 25, 2020. Please join our
JMS PTSA in this wonderful event. More information will be coming shortly.
While there are many unknowns ahead, we look forward to another amazing school
year.

With Warmest Regards,

2020–2021 Jefferson Middle School PTSA Executive Board

You Can Make A Difference!

The Jefferson Middle School PTSA is a volunteer, non-profit organization.  With the financial support of our members and parent volunteers, we are able to furnish our students with enriching and engaging programs, activities, community events and supplies that cannot be funded by the school or district.

How Can You Help?

  1. Become a Member of our School PTSA. Did you know that anyone in your family and in the community can join? Our JMS students are strongly encouraged to join and participate and receive incentives at PTSA sponsored events by showing their membership card. By becoming a member, you are helping to fund various key programs at Jefferson.
  2. Volunteer. Without the help of our parents or community members who able to donate their time, many PTSA supported programs would not be possible. We NEED YOU - even in Middle School, if not More So than before!

By supporting the PTSA, you are bringing enrichment programs that supplement our students’ education. The Jefferson PTSA also contributes to our surrounding community and WHS and TUSD scholarships. Our PTSA also recognizes our teachers’ dedication by funding Teacher Appreciation and Teacher Grants. By giving your time and support financially, you are making a positive difference in the lives of every student at Jefferson Middle School. Thank you for your support.
