School History 

Bert Lynn Middle School opened in February, 1957.  It was originally a K-8 school called Flavian School, named after a nearby street.  In 1972 it became a middle school and the name was changed in honor of late school board member Bert Lynn. The school covers 9.2 acres and consists of 9 buildings with 31 classrooms.
