The safety of all our students during Pickup and Dropoff is incredibly important.

We need your help to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during these congested and busy times. Please discuss and decide as a family where the designated pickup and dropoff points will be for your child/children. Never double (or triple) park in the street to pick up your child, and please use the crosswalks. Please follow the directions of all posted signs, staff, volunteers and crossing guards.

Please drop off and pick up your students on time. There is no supervision before our school opens in the morning and your child should be picked up within 15 minutes of school ending. 

TK & Kinder Pickup and Dropoff Procedure

Drop off and pick up procedures are designed with safety as the priority. In order to keep all students safe, please do your part, and follow these procedures:

  • On a daily basis, all parents of TK and Kindergarten students need to park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk their child to the TK/K entrance gate on a daily basis.
  • The streets directly surrounding Walteria are public, and subject to local, state and federal traffic laws. Follow all traffic laws and posted signs.
  • Again, we prioritize safety over speed; please walk your Tk/K child to the gate every morning. Curbside drop off/pick up is for 1st-5th graders only.
  • The TK/K gates open every morning at 8:35a.m. Supervision for students is not available before that time.
  • Our staff parking lot is for teacher and staff parking. In addition, the alleyways behind Walteria are for driving through and resident garage access. Thank you for respecting our staff lot and alleyways by not using it to pick up/drop off or park. Being a respectful neighbor is valued at Walteria.

1st - 5th Grade Pickup and Dropoff Procedure

Drop off and pick up procedures will remain the same and safety over speed has been prioritized for all. Please do your part, and follow these procedures:

  • The streets directly surrounding Walteria are public, and therefore subject to local, state and federal traffic laws. Follow all traffic laws and posted signs.
  • Thank you for respecting our staff lot by not parking or dropping off students in that area.
  • Communicate with your child about your expectations during drop off and pick up times.
  • Drop off: Students should exit the vehicle and go directly into the school.
  • Pick up: Students should exit their classrooms and immediately exit the front gate to look out for their car so that the car line can keep moving.
