Our 2026 Promotion preparation is underway! Your child will be sent home today with the following packet containing important information and required forms (located at the bottom of this message) your family needs for year-end requirements, activities, and events.

Friday, June 5: Yearbooks distributed: NO YEARBOOK WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO STUDENTS WITH OUTSTANDING DEBTS
8th Grade Dance: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., **ALL STUDENTS MUST STAY FOR THE ENTIRE DANCE AND MUST BE PICKED UP AFTER DANCE AT 8:00 PM, PARENTS, PLEASE BE PROMPT**

Thursday, June 11: 8:40 - 10:00 a.m. Students attend periods 1-2
10:00 - 11:45 a.m.: Promotion Practice at WHS Stadium
12:00 p.m. Students return to JMS AND ARE DISMISSED FROM BUSES

5:30p.m. Students report to WHS stadium
6:00-7:00 p.m. Class of 2026 Promotion

DRESS CODE NOTES
All events adhere to the JMS Dress Code. Students are to dress for these special events appropriately. Students not complying will be sent home to change.
• ALL STUDENTS AND ATTENDEES: West High/Jefferson Middle School does not allow “pointy-heeled” shoes in their gym/stadium because they damage the floor. Flats, block heels, and wedges are permitted.
• Dresses cannot be standalone tube tops, strapless, and/or have spaghetti straps unless a light shrug, sweater, or shawl is worn over them for the entire length of the event. Dresses and skirts must not be too tight or cut too low in the torso. Hems should be no more than 3 inches above the knee. If in doubt, show a picture of the attire you plan to wear to JMS administration.
• Ties, collared dress shirts, and slacks are encouraged. Not permitted: t-shirts, jeans, baseball caps, and shirts with graphics.
