Dear TUSD Families,
As you may be aware, schools across the country are offering free meals to all students through the end of the 21-22 school year, without requiring an application for the Federal Free and Reduced Meal Program.
However, so many of our vital District and school programs supporting low income families are paid for using State Supplemental and Federal Title I funding, which are based on a school’s percent of students who qualify for Free and Reduced Meals. Some of the site-level positions supported by this funding include school intervention teachers, reading recovery teachers, counselors, and psychologists.
Therefore, even though you will continue to receive free meals throughout the year without submitting an application, it is incredibly important that families still submit income information to ensure ongoing state and federal funding that support the learning of low income students.
There is a very quick, very simple way to submit your income information, and it is through the district Titan school meals website. Below are directions.
Step 1: Go to family.titank12.com
Step 2: Click the GREEN "Log In" button
Step 2: Fill in your email and password and click the GREEN "Log In" button.
Step 4: On the left menu bar click "Income Form"
Step 5: In the top right-hand corner click the GREEN "New Form" button.
Step 6: Fill in Name, Phone and Email and click "Next"
Step 7: Fill in the Household Size (this will be a numeric entry of the total number of people that live in the house), then select your Income Range, then click "Next"
Step 8: Click the words "Add Student" in the Students section. Fill in Student Name, Student ID if available, School, Grade, and Date of Birth. Click "Save". For additional students in the household click "Add Student" for each student individually. Once completed adding all students, click "Next"
Step 9: Review. Make sure all information is correct. Click "Next" if accurate, or the "Back" button to make corrections.
Step 10: Sign by filling in your name and Click "Submit"
If you do not already have a Titan account Click below the Green Log In button and Click "Sign Up Today!" Once registered Titan will send a verification email. You will need to verify your account prior to logging in. Once you receive the email and your account is verified complete the steps above.
Once again, in order to maintain district funding for our very important support programs, which include intervention, additional academic counseling, socio-emotional counseling, and reading recovery at our school sites, it is vitally important that all families who may qualify for free-reduced meals submit an Income Form.
