Dear Arnold Families,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I am thrilled to begin my 8th year here as the Proud Principal of Arnold Elementary School. This is a unique year that is sure to bring many challenges, but also many exciting adventures! Despite the "virtual" school experience that we find ourselves in to start this year, the Arnold faculty and staff continues to be dedicated to ensuring that each Arnold Alleycat receives a superior education and is supported in their academic and social/emotional growth. At Arnold each unique student is inspired to Deam it. Believe it. Achieve it. every day. We are a strong community here at Arnold, but we will need to come together even more so than ever. This year will be like no other year we have ever experienced, and will require us all to build in patience and grace as we learn to navigate what has come to be known as the "new normal."
Even though school looks different this year, we will stand by our Arnold values and work together to have a successful year. We are so fortunate to have a diverse school community where we can learn from one another and celebrate our differences. Let's make sure that we continue this tradition, even if we can not be physically together on campus. Tolerance, acceptance and kindness will continue to be taught on a daily basis through our PBIS program. Our future leaders are developing right in front of our eyes here at Arnold Elementary and the huge, welcoming hearts of our Alleycats makes me both hopeful and excited for all that they will accomplish.
Our teachers work tirelessly to educate every child to their fullest potential, challenging them to think critically and independentally, and this year will be no different. As a result of this dedication we have seen outstanding test scores, innovative instruction, effective intervention programs, and students who are well-prepared for the future. Collaboration, hands-on learning, deeper thinking and problem solving will continue to be common place in our virtual classrooms, K-5. Rather than simply “giving” students information, teachers are inspiring students to “discover” the information themselves. Arnold students are builiding invaluable skills that will support them in all of their future academic and career endeavors.
We hope this website is a valuable resource and a general guide to all parents and students at Arnold Elementary. Be sure to take a look often as it will be updated to reflect what is happening on campus. Also, please be sure to read the weekly Alleycat Times Eblast for all of the latest, important info you will want to know throughout the year. Here’s to a great 2020-2021 school year. Our theme this year, which we definitely think is appropriate is...We are in this together! #ArnoldStrong!
