Cathy Santome

 Greetings! I am a 4th grade teacher at Fern Elementary. My name is Cathy Santome and 2020, Mark's the 24th year I have had the privilege of teaching at Fern. I have had enjoyed my years at Fern, and it seems like home to me.

    I attended Newton middle school (now Richardson) and completed 4 years at South High.

Upon graduating from South, I attended El Camino College.  After 2 years, I ransferred to Cal State Dominguez hills  as a Liberal Studies major. I received my BA degree and then obtained my multiple subject teaching credential.

     I knew since Kindergarten that one day I would become a teacher! My teacher was kind, caring, and dynamic. I wanted to be like her!  I stood up on a chair one day, and loudly announced to the class, "I am going to be a teacher when I grow up!" My teacher gently led me off of the chair and said, "You will be a great teacher one day! But, please stay off of the furniture."  

       Here I am today! Proud to be a teacher at Fern!
