We’re excited to announce that the application for the TUSD DevELOPment Academy is now open! This expanded learning enrichment program offers engaging, hands-on learning experiences after school in a safe and supportive environment.
Program Hours: After school until 6:00 p.m.
Priority Enrollment:
Students who meet any of the following criteria will be given priority and may qualify for a fee waiver:
Homeless
Foster youth
Qualify for free/reduced-price meals
English Language Learners
Important Notes for Families:
Submitting an application does not guarantee placement.
All information must be accurate. False or misleading information may lead to disenrollment.
Monthly tuition is required unless a fee waiver has been officially approved.
A new Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application must be submitted annually (beginning in July) to maintain eligibility.
Fees (Due at the beginning of each month):
TK/K: $400/month
1st–5th Grade: $350/month
Middle School: $350/month
Early Childhood Academy (TK/K only): $60/month - Transitional care from TK/K dismissal until regular school day dismissal ~3:15pm

Before and Afterschool Care
Before & after school recreational enrichment program, filled with academic, recreational and educational enrichment activities, opportunities and classes to help every child learn, grow and thrive! The benefits of Recreational Enrichment programs:
High quality & well-trained staff members. Staff members are Infant, Child & Adult CPR, Basic First Aid, AED & Basic Water Rescue certified.
Clean, safe and secure environments. Peace of mind for working families. Academic, Recreational and Educational Enrichment sessions and class offerings, including sports, fine arts, STEAM, and more!
We proudly offer Financial Assistance and scholarships to all qualifying families.
This program is a partnership between the city of Torrance Community Services Department and Torrance Unified School District.
Geared towards youth in grades 1st-5th.
Designed to promote self-esteem through group interaction and self-expression.
Offers games, sports, arts, crafts, and a variety of activities.
Structured time is set aside for homework each day.
This program is based on a ratio of one staff member per ten youth at Elementary Schools. Enrollment is limited to all schools and participant minimums are required.
