Room 1’s Newsletter

Week of October 19, 2021

Dear Parents,

For the rest of this month we will work on our pumpkin and Halloween unit.   In math, we will finish up our Topic 3, numbers 6-10 and in Language Arts we will work on letters L, Larry Lion and M, Mimi Mouse and on our sight word, “like.”  So far our 10’s club sight words we’ve learned are: I, see, can, a, the, we.  Please practice all the letters, letter sounds and sight words we have learned so far.

If you ordered books from Scholastic Book Club in September, thank you for your patience as I received an email stating that due to Covid related issues, they are short staffed and are running behind in placing orders. They did confirm that they have our orders but it’s taking longer than 10 working days.  Your child will come home with them as soon as it’s delivered to school. (I have inserted the official letter from the president of Scholastic in Google Classroom.)

Please have your child do their homework in pencil and have them write their name correctly on the top of each page.

Also, once your child receives their sticker for the week, please take out all old homework from their homework folder. Thank you.

Please read at least 15-20 minutes everyday to your child. Fill out your child’s Oct. reading log.

Practice going on Learning a-z and start reading books. Your child needs to have all green checks under each book in order to move on to the next level.  Thank you to all the students who have already logged on.  :)
