8th Grade Activites

All extracurricular activities, like the Picnic Lunch and Celebration Party/Dance, are supported solely by donations from parents. 

We are hoping for a contribution of $50 for each student but any contribution you can give helps.  
Fundraising will also help us meet our challenging money goals to provide the best events we can.
Please attend our 8th Grade Committee Meetings if you can.

Feb 12 Palentine's Dance — for all grades.   8th grade will be selling snacks as fundraiser.

8th Grade Parent Night  includes Information on Athletics - at NHS  5:30pm  at the PAC
Meeting held in the Performing Arts Center (PAC).  All Parents Should Attend:  Important meeting to receive information about transition, class selection, and registration for your student attending North High School next year.   DO NOT MISS!
Following the main meeting, the coaches will host their informational session on NHS Athletics.

North High Class (Schedule) Selection At Magruder 
Counselors from NHS will  help students officially select their classes for next year.  If a student is absent this day he/she/they will have go to NHS to complete this process.

North High "Next Step Event" - 4:00 - 7:00.  Tickets are needed

Both Magruder and Casimir  NHS bound students will be able to participate in a fun campus orientation program that includes a Spirit Assembly, campus games and other fun activities.   

June 3

All Textbooks, Library Books  must be turned In
(Unless otherwise directed by a teacher) all textbooks and library books are to be returned to the school. Any book still outstanding from this year or previous years will be transferred with student's records to the high school.  Non-return of books may keep you from attending the Dance and/or Picnic.

June 4

Celebration Party/Dance at Magruder - 7pm - 10pm
Please see FAQ's for appropriate dress code.  If any parent is interested in chaperoneing please email a committee member. Students must be eligible to attend.  All parents must pick up their student no later than 10pm, students will not be allowed to walk home after the dance.
??? Dave & Buster's Class Trip.   11am - 2pm . A special celebration field trip.  Made possible by funds raised!!

June 9

Picnic at Columbia Park 
This is a student-only event. All eligible students can participate. Lunch will be provided.   A signed Permission Slip is required. Cost of this event is paid for from your 8th grade donation and fundraisers - thank you!
June 10

Promotion Practice at NHS with dismissal from NHS.
Students will attend 1st period at Magruder and walk to NHS together.  Students will be dismissed from NHS and should be picked up by 10:30 when practice is scheduled to end.

Promotion Ceremony 5:00pm - at North High School - Field 
Please read the FAQ section for detailed info on parking, location and student behavior expectations.   This event is for all eligible students and a signed permission slip is required.
