Mrs. Monika Vega

I started at Fern fresh out of student teaching in the 1989/1990 school year. I have been at Fern ever since. I have taught first, second, and third grades.  It has been fun having the children of some of my former students in my class! Teaching has been such a big part of my life.

I have two daughters. My oldest daughter is a teacher and my younger daughter attends Cal Poly Pomona and is studying to be a teacher, too.

In the summers, my husband, daughters, and I like to travel and see the world. 

We have driven to all 50 states and visited numerous National Parks. One of our biggest accomplishments as a family was completing a 600 mile hike, The Camino de Santiago, across Spain.
