Please support our PTA!

Please join the Victor School PTA. Our wonderful PTA supports your child by providing Science Lab, field trips, programs, Adventures in Art, the Victor Library, the Science Lab, planners for 4th & 5th grades, and so much more. You can send in a check or pay on-line. While you may not be able to volunteer your time, just joining will help the PTA reach it's goal for the year.

Thank you!

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Be safe, take care, and ENJOY!

STUDENT STORE

The last student store is scheduled for April 17.  We are always in need of parents to help the kids with their purchases, as they can be very savvy shoppers! Or, if you can't make it to a store, you might want to donate items for the store. There is a list of items in your Back-to-School packet.

If you have been cleared by the office to volunteer at the school and would like to help out, please come by first thing in the morning on the day of the store. We will put you to work! We start pretty quickly after the assembly, but any time you can make it is a great help. Donations of items for the store are also greatly appreciated. If you don't know what to donate, ask your child what they'd like to see in the store--but not too expensive! We usually check the $1 bins at Target, Claire's, Dollar Tree, 99 Cent Store, etc.

THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS

Room 12 could REALLY use some help with copying. If you are able to help out anytime during the week, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to volunteer to help at school please check with the office for the steps necessary to volunteer here at school, on field trips, in the library, making copies, etc.

The children just love it when parents are able to come in and help!

They like those bragging rights!

ABSENT HOMEWORK

Students absent from school are still responsible for completing all classwork and homework that was assigned when they are absent or tardy. You can always make arrangements to pick up their homework. If you call ahead, homework will be sent up to the office by the end of the day, and you can pick it up from there. If that is not possible, please remind your student to write down the homework that was assigned when they were absent once they return to school. All work assigned, whether classwork or homework, must be completed in a timely manner. Due dates can be adjusted so there is not too much homework due all at one time.

PLEASE REMEMBER

Papers with no names are treated as missing assignments and receive a zero!

ACADEMICS

LANGUAGE ARTS Core book:

BOOK PROJECT:    The next project, science fiction/fantasy, is due on Thursday, March 26;.  Presentations will be the next day, Friday, 3/27 around 1:30 (room to be determined)

Directions have been given to both classes. The students were shown several samples of each type of project--good ones and not so good ones. After they receive the project directions, you will need to sign and return the parent signature box to acknowledge that you are aware of the project and its due date.

Students will read two (2) books of 50 pages or more.  Students need their book(s) approved ahead of time so that they (and you) are sure they are reading the correct genre and to receive full credit. A deadline date for book check is 2/13/20.  After that date, students should still check in their books, but they will not receive full credit points. BE CAREFUL: Some students show me the correct genre at first, but then do their report on an entirely different book/genre. Not a good idea!

REMEMBER: Projects MUST be turned in on the due date for full credit. If absent, please find a way to submit the project on or before the due date. Students may turn in their projects one day late, with point deduction; but after that, projects will not be accepted.

For this project, we have some construction paper we can share, but other supplies will need to be furnished by the student. However, our supply cabinets will close the week before the project is due. This means that if students need supplies after that, they will need to acquire additional supplies on their own.

MATH:   Fractions and Decimals; PLEASE HELP YOUR CHILD LEARN/MEMORIZE THEIR BASIC FACTS THROUGH 10

SOCIAL STUDIES:   GoldRush and State Government

SCIENCE: See Mrs. Graves website.
