Dear Room 3 Families,

I hope you enjoyed the long weekend. We are so close to the end of the year, and I will be spending a lot of time assessing your child for the last achievement report. Unfortunately, I will have less time to practice reading with them. Please continue to insist your child read at home. They have come a long way, and reading is so important for success in school. I want all of your children to feel confident and proud of their reading skills. If your child is reading fluently, work on comprehension and writing.

Someone Special Lunch and Portfolio Day: This Friday May 31, we invite you to bring a lunch to enjoy with your child from 12:00-12:50. At 1:00, we will open our classroom for you to come and see  your child’s work. I have saved a lot of their projects and writing. Also, there will be some wonderful photos for you to take home. If you are unable to participate, please let me know. I will try to help your child find a friend to sit with, during lunch. If your child usually buys lunch, that will still be available. If you want to leave before the 2:00 dismissal time, I will give you an early out certificate.

We will continue practicing for the opera this week. The Kindergarten performance The Three Little Pigs and The Nanny Goats Gruff Opera will take place on Monday June 3rd at 9:15. Please come and enjoy it if you can.
