Mrs. Cheri Childers 2nd Grade Room 33

Years Teaching: This is my 24th year of teaching for the Torrance Unified School District. I'm looking forward to teaching 2nd grade again. I have also taught kindergarten and first grade. Prior to teaching in Torrance I taught for the Long Beach Unified School District for 8 years. Before moving to California, I taught kindergarten for two years in Chicago, Illinois.

Education: I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from Illinois State University. I also earned a Master of Arts degree in Bilingual-Crosscultural Education from California State University. I have the multiple subject and bilingual crosscultural teaching credentials.

Hobbies: woodcrafting, quilting, reading, hiking and spending time with my family and friends

Favorite movie: Any musical, but my favorite is The Sound of Music

Favorite color: yellow

Favorite rock group: Chicago
