Dear Torrance Elementary Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year at Torrance Elementary School! I want to extend a warm welcome to both returning families and our new families. I hope that you have enjoyed a summer of relaxation and fun. I am honored to serve as the principal of this amazing school for the 3rd year and am excited to continue to support all of our students and families. I am looking forward to working together to ensure the academic, social, and emotional success of all of our students. I am excited to start our year of learning together with all of our Tigers.
Thursday, August 22nd is the first day of school. Our teachers and staff are eager to meet their new students to begin a year of growth and success. Our dedicated staff has been working tirelessly to get ready for the start of a great year by planning, engaging in Professional Development, and refining practices to foster academic success and a sense of connectedness to our school. We continually strive to create an engaging learning environment, while developing positive expectations and citizenship. We work collaboratively with our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), district, and our community to provide the best opportunities for our students to continue to learn and grow in a safe, welcoming school environment. At TE, students are explicity taught and expected to follow our ROAR expectation (Respect, Outstanding Effort, Act Safely, Responsible) because students deserve to learn in a safe and nurturing environment.
In preparation for the upcoming school year, please check our website rregularly at torranceel.tusd.org for important information. We work hard to keep it up to date with school news, events, and celebrations. Also, make sure to read the Tiger Times, a weekly newsletter that will be sent by email on Sundays. It is a privelege to work in such a welcoming community. I look forward to getting to know each one of you here at Torrance Elementary and can't wait to seeing all of our students on the first day of school.
