Principal's Message
Dear Yukon Families,
It is with great pleasure and excitement that I write this letter to introduce myself as the newly appointed Principal of Yukon Elementary School. I am honored to have this opportunity to lead this school and be part of the Husky family. As I have spent some time with our teachers, staff and our community this summer, I know Yukon is a place where many families are deeply connected, and teachers and parents are committed to ensuring the success of our students.
Just to let you know who I am, I have served in the field of education for over 20 years and have worked with students and staff in two districts. I have taught students at the elementary level, served as an instructional reading and instructional coach in the district, and was a Middle School Assistant Principal. My passion for student learning and my experience has strengthened my skills as an educator to create a positive, strong school community where students will academically and socially succeed.
On a personal level, my husband and I are proud residents of Torrance with three children who attend or have attended Torrance Schools. Aside from working, I love going to the beach, traveling and spending time with our family and friends.
These first years in elementary school are critical in developing and shaping our student's educational journey, and it is important to me to ensure that every student feels welcome and connected at Yukon. I am excited to meet everyone and will be present in front of the school, in the hallways, classrooms and playground. My door will always be open, and I look forward to getting to know your children and building strong relationships with you so that we can partner in providing the best education our students deserve.
This 2022-2023 school year is going to be filled with engaging instruction and excitement for our students. I look forward to working with you to make it a success. I hope to see you all soon!
