West High School Wins L.A. County Academic Decathlon

West High School Wins L.A. County Academic Decathlon

West High School was named Thursday, 2/7/19 the winner of the Los Angeles County Academic Decathlon, advancing to the state competition next month.

West High scored 54,459 out of a possible 60,000 points to top the list of competitors. Seven other teams in the competition scored high enough to earn wild-card berths in the state contest, which will be held March 22-24 in Sacramento. Congratulations Warriors!

 

The Los Angeles County Academic Decathlon is a rigorous two-day scholastic team competition that tests the knowledge and skills of high school students who compete against other school teams for gold, silver and bronze medals. Decathletes are challenged to use analytical skills, performance abilities and test-taking and writing aptitude in 10 events: Art, Economics, Essay, Interview, Language & Literature, Math, Music, Science, Social Science and Speech.
