Frequently Asked Questions
How can my child get an appointment with the counselor?
Parents, teachers and students can make referrals by phone, email, or appointment. Students can leave us a note or tell their teacher they would like to speak with us. When referred, students are seen individually or in small group. Usually, the student and counselor work together to establish an individual goal related to the student's initial concern. While confidentiality is an inherent part of the counseling relationship, children are encouraged to share with parents. Children are generally seen no more than 4-6 individual sessions.
About what concerns can parents contact the counselor about?
Parents can contact us regarding any school or personal concerns regarding their child, typically these concerns have an impact on their learning. If we are unable to assist you, we will suggest an alternative resource.
