A Message From PTA President
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!
Dear Fern Falcon Community,
I hope this letter finds you all healthy, rested, and ready to tackle the challenges that this new year will bring! I am hopeful that we, as a community, can navigate this school year with a positive outlook and make great things happen for our children!
During this time, you may be wondering what you can do to help. How can we help support teachers and students as they undertake this new normal? One way you can help is to join the Fern PTA. Each year, the Fern PTA holds various fundraisers to supplement programs and activities at Fern. In a traditional year, the money that we earn from fundraisers help support amazing programs like Adventures in Art, Field Trips, and Assemblies, just to name a few. We also give each teacher funds to supplement materials for their classroom which will be more crucial than ever this year as teachers are having to learn how to switch to a digital platform!
Aside from school programs, we also hold many fun family events as a thank-you for joining the PTA and assisting in raising funds for the programs. During more normal times, some of those events are our Welcome Back Movie Night, our Harvest Festival and our Family events like Father/Daughter, Mother/Daughter, Father/Son, Mother/Son. While we don’t know and won’t know what this year brings, the Fern PTA board is working as a team to bring some of these events to you in a fun, safe, maybe even new virtual way!
With that being said, and without the ability to fundraise in a traditional sense (our Harvest Festival silent auction is one of our biggest fundraisers as is our Fun Run!!) we are going to have to rely on the generous donations of our families more than ever this year. With your support last year, we were able to purchase a basic set of supplies to supplement the supplies that the district will give us, for each and every student at Fern! And we hope to be able to continue to support our students!
Please review our Community Partners tab to learn about other ways you can help that don’t involve our traditional school-based fundraisers. I would really appreciate it if you took a moment to review this information and signed up for the various programs that donate money back to Fern PTA.
Even through having to navigate through this new school year, I am really excited to be “back” as a school community and I am so looking forward to the day that I get to see your faces on the Fern Campus! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments or suggestions.
Thank you and here’s to a great school year!
