Good Morning Edison Eagles! Since there was no school on Monday, for Labor Day, I am sending out our Weekly News and Flag assembly today.
The recording of the assembly was aired in the classrooms. Check your email for the link to view the Recording of the assembly. Due to student privacy rules, we cannot post the link to the video on the website.

BARBARA HUGHES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Barbara Hughes was a beloved teacher at Edison Elementary school for over 21 years. She recently retired in 2019, and passed away in March of 2021. Her wish was to establish an annual scholarship fund for Edison students. Thank you to her colleagues, Mrs. Branley and Ms. Marquez who diligently read all the NHS senior applications, and awarded three Edison Eagles $1,500 each toward their college education. Congratulations to: Alexandria Caponpon, Deja Crockett, and Gavin Hart.
Mrs. Hughes memorial service is scheduled for September 18, 2021 at 9:45, at the St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church, in Redondo Beach. Feel free to contact me for more information.
NUTRITON SERVICES - FREE MEALS FOR BREAKFAST (8:20) AND FOR LUNCH
Only students eating breakfast should enter the campus at 8:20. However due to NHS’s late start, I have made an exception for Tuesdays, you can enter campus at 8:20 whether eating breakfast or not. Everyone else should enter the campus at 8:35 when we have proper playground supervision.
Although meals are free this year, please complete the simplified income form, which saves families the step of logging in. Last year many families who normally qualify didn’t fill out the nutrition application form so Edison lost out on over $50,000 in Title I funds. It will take you only a few minutes, so please be sure to complete this form this month!! Thank you!
