Power School Course Registration

Dear parents and guardians of Bert Lynn Middle School current 6th, and 7th grade students. Please note that the window for the 2020-2021 student course registration period has been opened for students and parents to access via the district’s Power School Portal.  Once logged into PowerSchool look for the “Course Registration” icon on the left side of the page. Some of the core academic requirements and ALL of the elective courses will be selected on the Course Registration screen. Please follow prompts on the screen, which explain which courses are core academic, and which courses are elective courses.

Due to the lockdown this school year we provided a video guide in how to register for classes.

2019-2020 9th Grade Power School Course Registration

Hello, Rising 9th Grade Parents/Guardians!  Hoping you are all well and healthy during this uncertain time.

It is time to start scheduling for the 2020-2021 school year!  Counselors visited your school in March and presented course selection information to you.  However, due to our COVID-19 school closure, we need to adjust our scheduling plans.

Click here for the link to our Course Selection Presentation for 9th Grade.  Please review the entire presentation again, as it has very detailed information regarding graduation requirements, college entrance requirements, 9th-grade courses, honors/AP classes, summer options, etc.  The presentation also includes many direct links for your convenience.

All 8th-grade students will need to input their course selections in PowerSchool by Thursday, April 23rd @ 8am.

In addition to inputting your course selections in PowerSchool, please submit your scheduling forms to your counselor’s Google Classroom by Thursday, April 23rd @ 8am.

Turn in your 9th Grade Course Selection Form (with a minimum of 6 classes circled and alternate electives listed) via GoogleClassroom.

Turn in a completed and signed Honors/AP Commitment Form, if applicable, via GoogleClassroom

If you earned a C or below at semester in the subject area you are requesting an honors/AP course, you must turn in a Request for Placement Form

If you had an A or B at the semester in the subject area you are requesting an Honors/AP class, you do not need to submit this form

Turn in your Correspondence Course Pre-Approval Form via GoogleClassroom if you are taking a class over the summer for advancement.

If you plan on taking health over the summer, you need to:

1.  Select Health in PowerSchool and on your 9th Grade Course Request Form.  Write Health under the Summer School section on the back of your course selection form.

2.  You need to complete the Correspondence Course Pre-Approval Form

3.  You will be able to submit your form via GoogleClassroom.  Once received, your counselor can remove Health from your schedule and add your second elective choice.

3.  Register with your summer program. Here is a  list of summer programs WHS families have used.

Submissions directly emailed to your counselor will not be reviewed. Only those submitted in GoogleClassroom will be reviewed.

Please review the Frequently Asked Questions attachment for more answers.

If you have additional questions, please email your counselor:
