"What is your favorite pet's name" Why isn't this a good question to ask people? While there is not a wrong answer the answer we were looking for is related to a network hacking term called "phishing" Phishing is the fraudulent attempt to obtain sensitive information or data, such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by disguising oneself as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. One of the most used password recovery questions is? "What is the name of your first pet?" Other password recovery questions to be mindful of include:
What is your mother's maiden name?
What was your first car?
What elementary school did you attend?
What is the name of the town where you were born?
One way of working around phishing traps is to use password recovery answers based upon a famous person you can remember. Or make up crazy imaginary names for these questions.
