Getting Involved

Volunteer Application

At this time we are restricting volunteers to only essential services (i.e. library, gate helpers).  All volulnteers must show proof of full COVID vaccination or a negative COVID PCR test prior to volunteering. Please complete the online application including all of the required documentation.  Once it is approved, the office will notify you to let you know that you may begin volunteering on campus.  A new application needs to be completed every year in order to volunteer at Arnold Elementary.

English Language Advisory Committee (ELMAC)

The ELMAC is a group of parents who meet four times a year to give input and direction to the education of our English Language Learners. Meeting invitations are sent home with students and  are announced through school bulletins.

School Site Council (SSC)

The School Site Council is a committee composed of 10 representatives: 5 parents and 5 staff members. It is a shared decision-making body that oversees the implementation of the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The Council meets four times a year and is directly involved in setting goals and objectives for the school, as well as determining and monitoring various school budgets. The SSC also provides a forum for parental and staff input for District policies and directions. Meetings are open to the school community.

PTA Membership/Participation

The Arnold Elementary PTA invites all parents, students, relatives and friends to join the PTA. The membership fee is $8.00 per person. The fee is a valuable contribution not only to our PTA programs, but also to District, State, and National PTA programs. Read your weekly bulletins for information about the fall membership drive. Dues may be submitted to the office in an envelope showing child’s name and room number. If you miss the membership drive, you may join at any time during the year. A person must be a member of the Arnold PTA for 30 days in order to bring up business at an Association meeting, to hold office, or to vote on issues as they arise.
