CAASPP Testing

3rd - 5th Grade Students participate in the State CAASPP assessments to measure proficiency in both English Language Arts and Math.  5th grade students will also be tested in Science.  Students have access to practice tests to help familiarize students with test format, question type, and rigor.  http://www.caaspp.org/practice-and-training/index.html

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

5th Grade students will participate in the PFT during the month of March.  This test assesses their (1) aerobic capacity, (2) abdominal strength and endurance, (3) upper body strength and endurance, (4) body composition, (5) trunk extensor strength and flexibility, and (6) flexibility.  https://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/pf/

The PFT provides information that can be used by (1) students to assess and plan personal fitness programs; (2) teachers to design the curriculum for physical education programs; and (3) parents and guardians to understand their children’s fitness levels.

ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessment for California)

Students who are still gaining proficiency in learning English (English Learners) will be assessed each spring during the school day to measure their language proficiency and growth.  Students who demonstrate proficiency through the ELPAC assessment, school grades, and teacher recommendation may be re-designated as Fluent English Proficient (R-FEP).
