Peace Day

For International Peace Day on September 21st last year, Anza students revealed a grand experiment to measure the power of words. Based on previous experiments at elementary schools in Japan and duplicated by IKEA in UAE, two sets of plants are subjected to two sets of words: one set of plants will be complimented while the other set is bullied. In preparation, students from Character Counts measured the number of leaves, heights, and flower buds on each set of plants for comparison.

On International Peace Day, Students made predictions, and in addition they learned about peace with book readings and conflict resolution lessons in their classrooms, played peace games at recess, and participated in art activities.
