What are the age requirements to enroll into Transitional Kindergarten?
TK is only available to students born between
September 2, 2013 - December 2, 2013
What are the age requirements to enroll into Kindergarten?
Kindergarten is only available to students turning 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2018

No, TUSD strictly follows the age guidelines set by the state of California
The State of California mandates that all children be fully immunized prior to being admitted to school. Below are the immunization requirements for all students as well as a chart indicating when missing doses can be received. Please use this as a guide helping you to identify if any additional immunizations are needed before enrolling your student.
Please be aware: your student must meet ALL immunization requirements or we will not be able to process their enrollment.
To be eligible for direct enrollment into TUSD you must live within the districts geographic boundaries. Please use the TUSD School Locator to verify your address.
If you do not live within district boundaries you will need to apply for a permit. For more information on permits you can visit the Permits Page on our website or contact the office directly for more information.
The Torrance Unified School District does not offer child care. However, TUSD has collaborated with the YMCA to offer before and after school care for students. For more information please contact the YMCA directly.

Families are also welcome to use any private child care provider of their choice.
At the time of enrollment you must have the following documentation with you or we will not be able to process your student's enrollment:
Proof of Age - any one of the following original documents
Birth Record (this comes from the records department in the hospital where your child was born)
Proof of Immunizations - any of the following original documents
Other Immunization Records Provided by Physician
PLEASE BE AWARE: each immunization given must have a complete date (mm/dd/yy) along with the signature or stamp of the physician giving the immunization
Proof of Residence
2 Proofs Required - must be dated within the last 60 days
Must be in the Parent/Guardian's Name
Mailing and Service address must be the same
Acceptable Proofs of Residence
Utility BIlls - electric, gas, water, trash, cable/satellite, internet, telephone (landline only)
Property Tax Bill - current year only
If the parent/guardian is unable to provide any of the above, additional documentation will be required. Please contact the Enrollment Center for more information.
