In September 2017, Torrance High School will celebrate its 100th birthday! It's time to get this party started! Since this will only happen once in our lifetime, the Torrance High Centennial Committee invites YOU to become part of this history.
Here's what's happenin' . . .
Save the Dates

Tartar Family Reunion - see old friends, live entertainment, food trucks, campus tours, and more!
There will be more detail AND surprises added to this line-up, as we draw closer to the date, so . . . stay tuned!
Are you ready to rock? Torrance High School (THS) is celebrating 100 years with an event that will be music to your ears! To add to the festivities, the Torrance High Centennial Committee is hosting a special “Concert of the Century” featuring talented Tartar Alumni - including David Pack (www.davidpack.com), perhaps best known as the co-founder, singer, and guitarist of Ambrosia, and the voice of the timeless hits they produced in the 1970's and 80’s.
David will be performing his classic hits . . .
- Biggest Part of Me
- How Much I Feel
- You're the Only Woman
Since that time, David has established himself as a successful solo artist, in-demand Grammy-winning record producer, and Music Director of global special events - including both of President Clinton's Inaugural Galas, and events for Barbara Streisand, Elton John, Billy Joel, Madonna and others.
The concert will be led by THS alumni Fred Beato and David Pack, performing songs from their recent album “BEATO BAND” (www.beatoband.com) featured on NBC news, CNN, and OC Register cover story. Joining them onstage will be alumnus, Tom Croucier, their former high-school band-mate.
Here’s a video link to Beato Band’s nod to our “high school daze," a song David wrote to honor Fred, and the memory of that time in their lives that features them singing in front of their high school façade and other South Bay hot spots: “My Old Friend” www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQNEXYhpN7Q
The night, of course, would not be complete without a tribute to Torrance High School's own Symbols of Tyme, winners of the 1968 National Battle of the Bands.
After nearly a year of blending the new with the old, the restoration project of the 800+ seat Torrance High Auditorium is complete, and that is where this “Concert of the Century” will be held.
