Opened in November, 1958. (10.4 acres, bought in 1956 for $104,000). Construction cost: $631,000. Additions in 1993, 1995, 1997. Frame stucco, 36,349 sq. ft., 9 buildings, 27 classrooms. Served the Southwood area. Named after President Thomas Jefferson. Middle School: 1971-86. Closed in 1986 due to declining enrollment.
Adult education center, 1986-93. Reopened, September, 1993, with sixth grade only (first year). Peak enrollment 785 in 1967. Nickname: Jaguars.
