Another Successful District College Night!
Over 1,000 parents and students, from all four TUSD high schools, gathered to hear from college representatives and related speakers about the college application process. Topics ranging on everything from, the financial aid application, to which college to choose, was covered during the course of the evening. Students and parents were able to get essential information on how to navigate the overwhelming task of applying to colleges. They got to hear from speakers on how to prepare for SATs and other entrance exams as well as on how to write an effective entrance essay. One parent was there to see if her son would be able to get into USC with his grades and extracurricular activities, and if not, to explore other options. Another parent needed help with the financial aid processes. There were parents of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Even some freshman parents attended, hoping to get a better idea of what to expect in the next few years. Almost doubling in attendees, TUSD college night proved to be another success!
