2009 National Merit Scholarship Commended students and Semi-Finalists

Both South and Torrance High Schools had students that received honors from the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Commended students at South High School included Emily S. Chang, Katherine Fong, Lucas K. Hahn, Sol Han, Josephine E. Ho, Andrew J. Hong, Charisma F. Hooda, Christina E. Kang, Ray Y. Kim, Veronica N. Kraft, Bradley Moylan, Rose E. Reida, Neelofer I. Shaikh, Yulie Suzuki, Susie R. Yoon, and Daniel L. Yu.

The Commended students at Torrance High School were Jason Chen, Pengfei Chen, Yoon Seok Chung, Natasha Huey, Christine Lee and James Green. Torrance High also had six students make it to the next round as Semi-Finalists; Sung-Min Chang, Brian Gnerre, Jennifer Lee, Daniel Naphas, Aaron Sung, and Justin Hong.
