HALF-TIME 50% FOR 6 MONTHS
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: A.S.S.I.S.T.T. was formulated In January 2000 when the TUSD-I.B.I. (Intensive Behavior Intervention) team, & TUSD Full Inclusion Specialist merged. A.S.S.I.S.T.T. program teachers provide a range of services to the TUSD staff & parents including, but not limited to, inclusion support for students, training for certificated & classified staff, behavioral consultation, classroom/staff consultation, discrete trials teaching (DTT) programs for students with a diagnosis of autism. Provide written reference articles & books to staff & parents, assist staff In the development of charting systems, assist school staff In the development of social stories, social groups (circle of friends), & social skills training. Suggest Instructional techniques, modifications, adaptations, & materials, develop & conduct staff development trainings & seminars, & actively participate in the on-going development of TUSD based services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: A desire to learn & help develop best practices for serving TUSD students. The teacher will need to have (or be willing to develop) expertise with respect to Inclusion, autism, & behavioral practices & interventions. It is essential that the applicant have the ability to work as a team member. Our existing team of excellent A.S.S.I.S.T.T. staff will provide on-going training & support in the above listed job requirements.
CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENT: Must have a valid Mild Moderate or Moderate Severe teaching credential, or currently completing credential. CBEST required.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: The annual period of employment shall be 6 months. The beginning half-time salary will range from $21,680.00 to $30,475.00 based on education & experience. District paid employee medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits available.
SCHOOL DAY: Half-time hours will be arranged with Principal
